May 31, 2006 the NWT Treaty#8 Tribal Corporation wrote to the MVEIRB and requested that the proposed Uravan mineral exploration development be referred to an environmental assessment according to s. 126(3) of the MVMRA.

The NWT Treaty #8 Tribal Corporation requested that the proposed Uravan mineral exploration development be referred to EA under s 126(3) of the MVRMA. The Review Board decided that it cannot order an EA for the development and the reasons are given here.
