The Review Board Releases its Latest Reference Bulletin on Designated Regulatory Agencies

The Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board is pleased to announce the release of its latest Reference Bulletin on designated regulatory agencies. This Reference Bulletin describes the roles and responsibilities of designated regulatory agencies under Part 5 of the Mackenzie Valley Resource Management Act.

Review Board Releases New Reference Bulletin on government participation in environmental assessment

The Mackenzie Valley Review Board is pleased to announce the release of its latest Reference Bulletin, Government Participation in Environmental Assessment. This Reference Bulletin outlines the Review Board's options to obtain information from governments, and: (a) discusses the important role of government information in the Review Board's environmental impact assessment process; (b) offers good-practice guidance on how government departments can participate to share their information and expertise effectively; and, (c) gives the Review Board's view on how such practices contribute to good government decision-making and promote responsible development in the Mackenzie Valley.

MVH Project Engagement in Norman Wells and Tulita

The Review Board will visit the Tulita District of the Sahtu Region in the week of April 22, 2024. The Government of the Northwest Territories (the developer) will also attend. The Review Board will meet with interested parties, and there will be public Meet & Greet Information Sharing sessions (in Norman Wells and Tulita). See posters for detailed information.

The Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board is pleased to announce the release of our Guideline for an optional pathway for major projects to enter environmental assessment (the Guideline). The Guideline describes an optional pathway to environmental assessment (EA) for major projects and the information the Review Board needs to consider ordering an EA through this pathway.
